Veneration of the Ancestral Plaque Ceremony Held in Kisitgarbha Hall – Unleashing One’s Hidden Potential from Trails and Tribulation

01 / 05

On 3rd May, a Veneration of the Ancestral Plaque Ceremony was held at the Ksitigarbha for BLIA (North Island) Advisor Peter Yong’s deceased mother. 6 members of Peter’s family representing 3 generations joined the ceremony to express their heart of filial piety. Venerable Abbess was honourably invited to chant the “Amitabha Sutra”, which was supported by a congregation of 30 BLIA Members including President (North Island) Dolly Tsai and various Committee Members.

Peter was very grateful for the Temple and BLIA’s support for this ceremony; he was deeply touched by the participation of his fellow members. He fondly reminisced on his mother’s strict yet loving discipline and admonitions in the past. Even though his mother has passed on, but the selfless nurturing and guidance by the Temple’s Venerables are also like that of mothers.

Abbess Manshin expressed that practicing Buddhism requires one to be able to handle tests and trails. One can only improve if they can handle instructions and demands. If one can handle them, then one is a person with sound foundations. She also encouraged everyone to uncover their hidden potentials by developing an attitude that strives for improvement.
