North and South Island BLIA Fellowship Get Together

On the evening of 2nd June a North and South Island BLIA Fellowship Get Together was held inside the Dining Hall. The celebration was attended by Venerable Abbess Manshin, other Venerables, North and South Island BLIA presidents, various committee members and 72 other Fo Guang people.

Everyone had gathered together for evening meal celebration, after which the monthly meeting commenced. The topics of discussion included:
• Organization of a High Event as fundraising for the upcoming ANZBYC.
• preparation for the Ullambana 'Sangha's Day' celebrations by all the NZ BLIA sub-chapters and the rehearsals of the performances by the sub-chapters for the Ullambana festival.
• organize a trip to Taiwan to celebrate Ullambana at the Fo Guang Shan head quarter to gain valuable experience
• various opportunities on how to encourage members to attend the 2013 BLIA AGM at Fo Guang Shan head quarter in Taiwan
• organize an essay writing and drawing competition for local schools based on the subject of the '3 Goodness'.
• preparation to attend the next 'Everyday Heroes' event hosted by the local police, and consider the option of setting up a community stall by FGS during the event
• organize seminars on the theme of 'Happiness and Peace'
