Counties Manukau Police District Leadership Strategic Planning Day” at Fo Guang Shan
On 18th April the “Counties Manukau Police District Leadership Strategic Planning Day” was held at Fo Guang Shan North Island. The seminar included Superintendent John Tim, Assistant Commissioner Alan Boreham, and 28 other high ranking officers from around New Zealand. After arriving in the morning at 8am, Venerable Abbess Manshin, Venerable Juehao and other members of Fo Guang led the group on a tour around the temple.
The Abbess and Inspector Morehu recited Sutras to bless everyone before the seminar, and offered lights inside the Main Shrine, in order to wish for happiness toward citizens and society. The Abbess gifted the visitors with Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s book “366 days with wisdom” and shared the ideals of “3 Goods and 4 giving” with the officers. The officers expressed that wiser and well rounded decisions can be made when the planning seminar can be held at such a tranquil and harmonious location, thus bringing more peace to the public. The seminar was completed at 5:00pm.
