Bhartiya Samaj Charitable Trust visits Fo Guang Shan

01 / 05

On the afternoon of 20th April, under the guidance of Justice of Peace Mr Jeet Suchdev and volunteers, over 200 elders from Bhartiya Samaj Charitable Trust visited Fo Guang Shan. They were welcomed by Venerable Miaoyu and volunteer Ling Yan.

Throughout the temple tour, the visitors listened to Venerable Miaoyu’s explaination of the symbolism behind striking of the huge bell and the wishing bell. They also visited the Main Shrine and the new exhibition show casing the history of Prince Siddartha Gautama. Later the group proceeded into the Pagoda in an orderly fashion and listened attentively to the meaning of the structure and contents of the Diamond Sutra transcribed onto the Pagoda back wall.

Afterwards the visitors exclaimed and praised the temple architecture and feelings experienced by the Diamond Sutra’s presence, where one truly feel joy and tranquillity. Everyone agreed that, compared to many temples they’ve visited, Fo Guang Shan is the most beautiful, peaceful and spiritually rejuvenating place they’ve been to so far. They hope to come back often to obtain wisdom, and welcomes members of Fo Guang Shan to visit their Bhartiya Samaj Trust centre.
