Chinese New Year Visit of TECO Representative in NZ
On 10th February (1st January according to the Chinese Lunar Calendar), Taipei Economic and Cultural Office Representative Mr. and Mrs. Huang, were joined by the Commissioner of Overseas Compatriot Affairs of Commission Taiwan Alex Fu, visited FGS South Island and they were updated on the progress of FGS repairs after the earthquakes. They were welcomed by Venerable Juexi, Venerable Miaoyu, BLIA South Island New Zealand President See Shen Lee, Vice President Ming Yuan and other members.
Mr. and Mrs. Huang, were taken on a tour by the Commissioner of Overseas Compatriot Affairs of Commission Taiwan Alex Fu around the temple, led by Venerable Juexi. They had the chance to visit the construction site and learnt about the progress of the repair. Commissioner Alex Fu said that he felt sad over the damage caused by the earthquake to Christchurch city and was relieved from this feeling by understanding Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s words of wisdom. Even though he was born and brought up in a Christian family, he was fascinated with Master Hsing Yun’s teaching and used it as a guide in his life. Mr Huang praised FGS and BLIA highly of their achievement and expressed wishes to work with FGS in the future.
Last but not least, Venerable Juexi handed gifts to them on behalf of Venerable Abbess Manshin and thanked them for their concern, wishing them a prosperous new year ahead.
