BLIA South Island Family Visit

01 / 08

Venerable Abbess Manshin and Venerables from BLIA South Island visited BLIA member Wendy’s house on February 3rd and was made welcome by her family members including her partner Daniel and her daughter Kaylie. Wendy is gifted in the art of bakery and her mum often helps out in the temple during weekends.

Wendy showed us her garden and everyone was amazed by the variety of the plants and vegetables. Her house design was very unique, and she has always taken tremendous effort to adjust the designs accordingly to how Kaylie grew up. We were very touched by a mother’s love for her daughter after seeing this.

Wendy prepared a variety of snacks during the family visit and BLIA members were very fortunate to sample all the delicacies. Daniel mentioned that they used to invite friends over for tea before Kaylie was born. This visit had given them an opportunity to show their culinary skills once again. Kaylie, her daughter also prepared a dish for us.

Abbess was pleased to see Wendy and her family living in harmony and said that it was a blessing for them to enjoy such an envioment. She also pointed out that in order to protect the youth, the legal age of drinking should be increased to 20 years of age, as mentioned by police officers from Manukau earlier. Last but not least, Abbess gave them some souvenirs in return for their hospitality.
