New Year’s Greetings Family Visit – BLIA Committee Member Simon Pan

01 / 05

On the evening of 19th February, Venerable Abbess Manshin, Venerable Juehao, BLIA North Island chairperson Dolly Tsai and many Fo Guang people arrived at the home of East 2 sub-chapter committee member Simon Liang to give him New Year’s Well Wishes. Under the guidance of the Abbess, the group chanted the “Medicine Buddha Mantra” to bless Simon’s home. The Abbess also gifted to Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s “Merit Sea” calligraphy work to Simon.

Simon and family have made great contributions to Fo Guang Shan whether it’s time, energy, skill and material. They have provided many of the table clothes used during major Dharma functions, decorations, art exhibitions, and banquets for special occasions. They’ve also made the 100 plus ceremonial scarves used for special Dharma functions and celebrations. Costumes for the various performances were also tirelessly made by the couple. The intricacies of their handicraft have garnered much praises from the audience. Their son Anthony would diligently attend the many Dharma functions, where on many Sundays you can see him operating the Dharma Instruments. Simon’s whole family thus uphold the Bodhisattva Precepts, learning and practicing the Dharma together, hence truly earning the title of a “3 Good family”.

The Abbess reminded everyone that their every action during every moment will leave a mark in history and reap the appropriate merits, as well as leaving good causes and conditions for our descendants. Today everyone enthusiastically joined the New Year’s Well Wishes visit, hence gaining valuable knowledge from each group discussion.
