BLIA Members Participate in Keep NZ Clean Week
Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) South Island New Zealand North One Chapter organized an event where 26 participants joined the New Zealand Cleaning week activity on 16th September. Participants included Fo Guang Shan Venerable Miao Yu, BLIA president See Shen Lee, vice president Louisa Kuo and other members of BLIA.
This year the venue was at Hagley Park, the BLIA participants walked from the temple to the park. They collected rubbish and placed them in the rubbish bags provided by the City Council, during their travels to and from the temple. During their travels, everyone enjoyed the beautiful scenery of cherry blossom trees with flourishing pretty blossom flowers. The joggers around Hagley Park praised the participants when they ran past them. Members of FGS has experienced and learnt about the environmental and spiritual preservation which is promoted by Venerable Master Hsing Yun, and members of FGS announced that they will continue assisting in cleaning the society every year, so that there will be a cleaner environment for everyone in the society to live in.
