BLIA English Sub-chapter Committee Members Transforms into Voice Actors – Great Achievement from Courageously Taking Responsibility

01 / 05

On the evening of 27 May in the VIP Room, 9 ESC members led by Venerable Miaoyu and BLIA North Island Vice President Linda Daniel, embarked on an exciting journey. This journey was one of amending existing cartoon subtitles and recording them in English as an over dub.

The first cartoon film to be amended was entitled "Little Monk Sees the World" by BLTV. The recording was done by Stephen Yu, who is the chairperson of the Working Young Adults division.

Fo Guang Shan recently organised the "Festival of Cultural Sharing" with the aim of propagating daily wisdom using "3 Good Deeds and 4 Kinds of Giving" to local students.

In order for the young student to better understand the contents of "Little Monk Sees the World", the English subchapter was invited to try their acting skills to perform the overdubbing. Even though the weather was cold the members joined in their mission with joy and laughter. Everyone was fully immersed in their respective roles and with great concentration was able to express their emotions to fit with the characters they were portraying. Even the Temples young 9 year old member Daniel joined in to voice over the little Monk Huanxi.

The translation and dubbing took 4 hours to finish. The participants were grateful for this rare opportunity to be of service and experiencing something different.

From these conditions they've all felt the value of taking up responsibilities and receiving much more enrichment and contents to life.
