Fo Guang Shan Youth Group Fundraise by Giving Car Wash during Weekly “Temple Day”

On 18th May during their weekly “Temple Day” activity, YAD Team Leader 1 Jia Qian Liang led 10 members to volunteer for car wash in order to fundraise for their upcoming ANZBYC. The youths worked diligently without complaint, whether it’s vacuuming or exterior washing, all were done thoroughly and meticulously, which earned praises from the vehicle owners.

After lunch, the youths gathered around Venerable Rulian to hear teachings on the 4 Noble Truths. She encouraged the youths to recognize that suffering is the truth to life. If one wants to be relieved from this painful abyss, one must find and eliminate the cause of suffering. Therefore the essence of Truth to Cessation of suffering lies in carefree liberation. Only by eliminating the vexation of greed, anger and ignorance can allow the pure nature of suchness to be revealed. Hence one should diligently practice with perseverance until the final attainment of enlightenment.

After the lesson the youths continued to cherish the good causes and conditions by volunteering to tend the Temple gardens.
