The ANZBYC – Temple tour, 12 July 2013
The registration of the ANZBYC started at 9 am to 11:50 am, where the participants collect their t-shirt and information pack. The youngest participant among the group is only an 8 years old girl from Hongkong. She attends the ANZBYC with her elder sister.
Without further ado, the team activities start with a few ice-breaker games and team interaction. After the lunch, the temple tour was commenced.
This temple tour was divided into the 4 main sites, such as: the main shrine, the front shrine, the court yard (in front he main shrine, known as the field of merit) and the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva hall. Each of the site has a volunteer to explain the NZ North Island architecture, except the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Hall was led by Ven. MiaoYu.
To manage the time better, the 2 groups were combined into 1 group. The groups were constantly being reminder on the Buddhist etiquette. There was a short quiz after this temple tour. The team got the right answer will win some points toward the team.
