The visit of the Superintendent and 2 senior Polices officers for the ANZBYC 12 July 13

On the 12 July, 1 pm, the Fo Guang Shan Temple had 3 visitors flew from the Wellington Police force for the opening ceremony. They are the Superintendent, Mr Wallace Haumaha, Inspector Strategic Ethnic Advisor Rakesh Naidoo, and Inspector advisor for the Maori Pacific Ethnic Group Huri Dennis. Venerable Abbess ManShin, Ven JueXi, Ven JueHao, Ven RuLian and 9 BLIA members received them.
The NZ police force has been working closely with the NZ Fo Guang Shan temple since the Christchurch earthquake.
There will be a 3 hours workshop made especially for this ANZBYC; the topics are “ Road Safety”, “Alcohol and Party Culture” and “ Keeping Ourselves Safe”. This workshop held on Sunday 9am sessions, conducted by 3 police officers. To advocate on the prevention is better than cure.
The Superintendent, Wallace Haumaha made a short speech of encouragement with the youth. He is surprised to see the youth from Australia, Taiwan, Hongkong and New Zealand to attend this conference. And the idea of 3 good deeds and 4 types of gives should promote to other youth organizations and the general public.
Then Venerable Abbess ManShin did a short temple tour with the special visitors. This visit is ended with a tea reception.
