Blessing Ceremony to Pray for World Peace
In order to promote world peace, 10 Buddha’s Light International Association members and youths attended the 2012 interreligious Blessing Ceremoniy held in Hagley Park, Christchurch on 14th October representing BLIA South Island NZ. Catholic, Christian, Jewish and Baha'I representatives were there to attend this ceremony at the same time. Catholic representative Sister Bertha led the ceremony, which began with wreath-laying and burning incense in front of the World Peace Bell. The purpose of this is to bring the message of peace to everyone.
The second stage of the blessing ceremony involves reciting of prayers of peace by various religion representatives. BLIA members and youth recited “The Value of faith” proposed by Venerable Master Hsing Yun on September this year during “World Economic Forum 2012 Summer Davos” in the hope that his wishes and thoughts can bring inspirations to other religions. Lastly, the Peace Bell was rung, with the hope that this world will remain peaceful and all war fire will cease.
