BLIA South Island NZ YAD Election
Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) South Island New Zealand Youth Adult Division (YAD) welcomed the election of its President and Deputy President on 20th of October. 9 YAD members and BLIA NZ South Island director Jason and Venerable Miao Yu attended the meeting. After voting, Fan Ping was chosen to be the President of YAD whereas Maggie Zhang was selected to be the Deputy President. Two of them expressed their gratitude towards the YAD members for entrusting them with such great responsibilities. Venerable Miao Yu said that she was glad to see the YAD members coming every Saturday to the temple to practice for the charity concert next year although the temple was undergoing renovation. She hoped that all the YAD members could keep up the good work and challenged them to take up more difficult tasks next year and learn from those tasks. Venerable Abbess Manshin too encouraged the YAD members to improve themselves through various ways including frequent reading and volunteering. Humanistic Buddhism should always be lively, filled with joy and constantly improving. When everyone works together, good outcome is expected.
