First Session of Diligent Chanting Amitabha Dharma Function

01 / 05

The first session of this year’s Diligent Chanting Amitabha Dharma Function was held on the evening of 4th December. Following the guidance of Presiding Minister Venerable Abbess Manshin and other Venerables, over 80 devotees recited the “Amitabha Buddha Sutra” unison. Through chanting of Amitabha Buddha’s name in rapid succession and in quiet contemplation, everyone’s minds were deeply and magnificently adorned.

The Abbess advised everyone to use the power of Buddha contemplation to ask themselves: “Am I a Buddha?” All people with wholesome roots and wisdom hope to become a Buddha. When one can admit they are a Buddha then they will not petrified by any hardship, and troubled by inner conflicts, instead their personal values will be elevated. Learning Buddhism is learning to be someone with understanding awareness; through the harmony obtained through contemplation, our wisdom and compassion will also increase.

The Abbess also encouraged everyone to utilise the diligent cultivation of this Dharma Function to uncover one’s own intrinsic Buddha, intrinsic Dharma and intrinsic Sangha.
