Manukau Police completes this year’s “Neighbourhood Support” promotions

On 29th November, Ormiston department of the Manukau Police completed their 3rd round of 2014 “Neighbourhood Support” promotion campaign. This police initiative was supported by 10 BLIA committee members from the young adult and working young adult divisions. On behalf of the police, they translated advice on crime, fraud and fire prevention to the local Chinese communities.

After the officers courteously explained all procedures involved, they set off with BLIA members to distribute this information to the local community. The youth Zhao Peng An also witnessed an exhilarating case of police pursuit and apprehension of a burglar.

Zhao Peng An complimented on the officer’s powerful physique, professional handling of captured criminal and subsequent lectures to the offender. This first hand experiencing of assisting the police have really allowed BLIA members to see the value of police co-operation with the temple, where both organisations works to bring about a better society.
