01 / 05

On 20th July, a planning meeting for the proposed “Humanistic Buddhism’s Impact on the Community” forum on 1st November was held. It was attended by Venerable Abbess Manshin, BLIA Vice-president Linda Daniell, Committee Member Sally, other Venerables, Working Young Adults Division Chairperson Stephen Lin and 10 other youths. This meeting included discussions on planning, PR and operation of the event. This forum will be conducted in English in order to attract more locals to come and discuss the topic of “Humanistic Buddhism’s Impact on the Community”.

Abbesses expressed since Fo Guang Shan was established in Auckland and Christchurch, the Venerables, BLIA members and the devotees have worked hard to plant and nurture the seed of Humanistic Buddhism ever since, in order to pass down the lineage. It is hope through educational means, local people can understand Humanistic Buddhism more, therefore revealing the value of combining Buddhism with local culture and education methods.
