BLIA Study Group Explore the World of Wisdom
To follow closely the steps taken by Venerable Master Hsing Yun in the propagation of Buddhism and also to learn about Master Hsing Yun's wisdom and compassion, on 29 September 2013, Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) south island, New Zealand conducted the opening ceremony for the commencement of various study group.
The ceremony was officiated by Fo Guang Shan New Zealand Abbess Venerable Manshin. In attendance were the NZ BLIA South Island President, See Shen Lee, Vice- President Louisa Kuo, Dharma lecture Rona Ku and a group of approximately 50 BLIA south island members.
For the year 2013, the study group would consist of 13 subgroups with the target to achieve 100 study sessions covering range of topics. All members present pledged to actively participate in the study groups, to implement innovations, to improve and to further advance the field of Buddhism.
Abbess Manshin encouraged all members to read more as reading would enhance one’s wisdom, knowledge and assimilation of positive information. Abbess reiterated that Master Hsing Yun has actively engaged in reading and writing throughout his life. All BLIA members must try to emulate and follow the examples and practices set forth by our Master Hsing Yun. By engaging in the study group and sharing of one's knowledge would lead to better understanding of Buddhism.
