Great Compassion Repentance Dharma Service

In order to commemorate Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva’s day of Renunciation, the Great Compassion Repentance Dharma Service was held at Fo guang Shan on 20th October.

120 devotees congregated inside the Main Shrine and sincerely paid homage under the lead of the Venerables. Then Venerablee Juehao showed everyone an episode from Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s “100 Talks on Monastic Affairs” regarding Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva’s Dharma method, as well as the origin of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva’s title and cultivation method. Venerable Master Hsing Yun explained “Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva Universal Gate Chapter”, emphasising that upholding Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva’s title can eliminate greed, anger and ignorance while increasing wisdom. When sparks of anger have ignited in our mind, upholding Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva’s title can douse this ignorant flame.
