It is an honour to be able to invite My Jami-Lee Ross, the youngest member of the Parliament, to conduct a talk for the 16th term ANZBYC. The topic was “ Key to My Success” on the 15th July, morning.

At a young age, he set his goal to be a politician. Those negative remarks about his goal do not deter him in pursuing his own dream. With very limited resources in campaigning himself for the seat in the Manukau City Council; he adopted the door knocking method, and he visited about 5000 families. There was a lot of hard work and rejections. But he got elected and he is only 18years old.

He quoted: “don’t let your background determine your destiny”, and be your own master. He encourage the youth to set their goal and future, then work hard with great determination and faith to accomplish them. He believes the road to success will be near.

The talk has won a round of applause from the young participants. Mr Jami-Lee Ross is indeed a role model for the youth and his talk is very motivating.
