13th July – ANZBYC High tea with and 9 questions for the discussion about the topic 3G4G

01 / 09

The second half the day, began with a wonderful 3 hours high tea session in the Stamford Plaza, with the special guest Inspector Rakesh Naidoo, Venerable Abbess ManShin, other venerables and a few of the BLIA executives. However, this is not merely just a relaxing high tea session for the young participants.
There were 9 questions revolving the 3G4G for the young participants to brainstorm whilst having their high tea.
The young participants were expected to share their thoughts, with real life example on the 3G4G.
All of them felt good after they did a good act. One participant from Melbourne mentions he helped a 5 years old boy found his parent, with the involvement of the police and the Melbourne State library. He took a picture with the parent and the lost boy. He then posted the picture on his facebook, it was well received and the most acknowledgements on his facebook.
Till now, the discussion was focus on the importance of integrating the 3G4G into the daily life. The youth also discussed on the reasons which may deter them to practice 3G4G.
The conclusion of these factors is as followed: the peer pressure “not cool”, it is too trivial to say thank you and fear of rejection.
The main correlation of the 3G4G and the Buddhism philosophy: “you reap what you sow”. Besides, the bad deeds to avoid and prevent; we should also cultivate the good ones. Never underestimate a small good act; it is like many drops of water which can be accumulative. We are indirectly creating a positive affiliation with others and the community.
