Fo Guang Shan (FGS) and BLIA South Island NZ organised a Free Chinese Medical Check up on 21th May at Pranaj Hall. The service was provided by Chinese medical practitioners, Su-Mei,Shen and XiaoYun Chen, to BLIA members and communities of Christchurch. Both Chen are FGS South Island devotees embracing the Humanistic Buddhism philosophy by Venerable Master Hsing Yun. They hope all learning would serve the public by practising 3 Good deeds and 4 Givings. They assisted public in understanding their health condition and improving awareness in prevention.

The day coincidently fell on Sunday, thus nearly 50 people from BLIA members and residents of Christchurch upon hearing the service, seized the opportunity to meet the practitioners. They inquired after their health through pulse and simple acupuncture therapy. They listened to the advice given by practitioners in order to prepare themselves in the cold weather and pay attention to their diet and .

BLIA members and public thanked temple and BLIA in organising this meaningful service. They gained the opportunity to learn their health problem. Both practitioners also appreciate temple and BLIA for their warmth help. They have the opportunity to use their medical skill and creating good affinity with others.
