Discussions with the Morant Couple
Local artist Keith Morant and his wife, Tricia Morant which is a pottery artist, came visitng Fo Guang Yan Art Gallery Christchurch on 31 May and was received by the Minister in Charge, Venerable Juexi and art gallery coordinator, Vicky Han. Vicky led them to the art gallery and both parties discussed about the arrangement of the artwork for the upcoming exhibition with the opening tea party which opens on 12 August at 2pm.
The main points of Keith being to the temple is to decide the quantity and which artwork to be exhibited, on the oil painting exhibition “Ringing True” and his wife’s pottery exhibition. He has build a miniature Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery Christchurch to have a better idea on how to exhibit, get lightings and having a vivid scene to give a wonderful surprise to the visitors.
Vicky have also planned to have the video team to shoot a video of the artist in June giving the people of Christchurch more understanding of the art. The artists said they would do their best to prepare.
In the end, Vicky have brought them in appreciating the pottery exhibition of “Hand Crafted for the Love of Clay” by Averil Cave and the “Love and Humanity” oil paintings by ZiJian Li. The couple praised the exquisite exhibition and the floral art, moreover the lively paintings of ZiJian Li which is full of love.
