Fo Guang Shan Joins “Everyday Heroes”

On 2nd April Fo Guang Shan’s Venerable Zhiming, BLIA Advisors, Sub-chapter Chairs, Committee Members and youth group members, altogether 14 members were invited to join NZ Police’s annual “Everyday Heroes” event at Botany Town Centre. This event included, public safety consultation, demonstrations of police procedures, weapons, fire fighting techniques and police dog actions.

During the event Fo Guang Shan’s youth group chanted words of blessings for the police and participants and performed recitation of the “100 Syllables Mantra of Vajrasattva”. Their beautiful performance received much applause.

Superintendent John Tims, Manukau East Area Commander Inspector Wendy Spiller and Asian Liaison Officer Justin Zeng all thanked Fo Guang Shan for their annual support of “Everyday Heroes” and facilities a harmonious society with the temple’s “3G4G” initiative.
