Compassionate Samadhi Water Repentance Dharma Service for Ching Ming Festival - I am my own power generator
The Compassionate Samadhi Water Repentance Dharma Service for Ching Ming Festival was held on 3rd April 2016. Venerable Abbess Manshin guided more than 250 members and public in expressing repentance, repaying gratitude towards ancestors, sincerely atoning for past transgressions , praying to the Buddha and Bodhisattva for empowerment and protection, so the deceased could benefit from the merits and gain rebirth to a more realm of existence, and those alive could continue to practice Bodhi’s way and improve wisdom.
Abbess explained the significance of the Compassionate Samadhi Water Repentance and consolidated the 21 ways of repentance. Repentance must be practised. Repentance is like Dharma water, it cleanses past sins transgressions. Repentance is like a boat, it takes one from this shore of suffering to the shore of nirvana. Repentance is like medicinal herbs, it cures all kinds of sicknesses. It is like a lamp, out-shining the darkness. It is like a bridge, providing pathway to Buddhahood. Like a wall, it protects one’s six sensory roots. Like a jade stone, it beautifies the Bodhi’s way. Abbess encouraged members to persevere and practice Buddhism, despite facing difficulties; to practice inner self, starting from oneself, believing oneself is his/her own power generator, cultivating self-believe, relying on good heart and good thought as a vehicle, and progress towards the pathway to Buddhahood, excavating the wealth of wisdom.
