Tibetan Pungri Rinpoche Visits Fo Guang Shan

01 / 05

On 26th March, the Tibetan Pungri Rinpoche visited Fo Guang Shan accompanied by Lamas and devotees. They were welcomed by Venerable Miaoyu and 3 BLIA Members who led the Rinpoche to offer incense to the Buddha and to tour the Shrines, Ch’an Garden, the Pagoda and the current art exhibitions.
Pungri Rinpoche praised the Temple for its tranquil atmosphere and its exhibition of strength through simplicity. Under the combination of fragrant flowers, bird songs and outdoor art works, one feels to have entered a dignified pure land. Without speaking, the inanimate landscape themselves will demonstrate the Dharma. The Rinpoche also thanked Fo Guang Shan for supporting the recent ground breaking ceremony for their proposed Monastery. He is hopeful toward more co-operations between the different Buddhist sects, to enable the continuing propagation and cultivation of Buddhism within this Pure land called New Zealand
