Venerables from WAT YARNPRATEEP visits Fo Guang Shan
On the morning of 17th December, 84 years old Venerable Eldar, other Venerables, a devotee called Susie and others, from which a total delegate of 7 from the Thailand temple WAT YARNPRATEEP paid Fo Guang Shan North Island a visit. They were received by Venerable Miaoyu who guided them to visit the Main Shrine and pay homage; as well as touring the pagoda, art gallery and the Ch’an garden. “NZ Fo Guang Shan’s Annual Activity Report 2013” was also gifted to the visitors.
The summer temple ground is especially vibrant and full of natural spirit, which inspired the visiting Venerables to praise the temple’s magnificence and serenity. Susie explained that WAT YARNPRATEEP has been established in Auckland for over two years, which currently has two Venerables. The aim of this visit is to experience the harmonious atmosphere of the temple. They then invited Fo Guang Shan’s Venerables to visit their temple.
The Thai Venerables explained that they have been to Fo Guang Shan’s Taiwan head quarter as well as meeting Venerable Hsing Ting, from which many joyful conversations were had. They were very supportive of Humanistic Buddhism as propagated by Venerable Master Hsing Yun, and hope to develop great relationship with Fo Guang Shan North Island. Together, Buddhism’s shining light can be fully established in New Zealand.
