Manukau Police Inspector visits Fo Guang Shan

01 / 05

On 27th April, Inspector Richard Middleton and family visited Fo Guang Shan. They toured the Pagoda, Main Shrine, Fo Guang Yuan art galleries and enjoyed the temple’s peaceful and harmonious atmosphere. They also met up and conversed with Venerable Abbess Manshin, NZ North Island BLIA president Dolly Tsai, and other members of Fo Guang Shan.

Inspector Middleton expressed that he and colleagues really enjoyed having Fo Guang Shan as the venue for “Counties Manukau Police District Leadership Strategic Planning Day” seminar on 18th April. Everyone was grateful for the temple’s assistance, not only was the seminar successful, many in attendance experienced positive spiritual connections. The vegetarian morning and afternoon, Blessing ceremonies, and the general peaceful atmosphere left many wonderful memories for everyone to talk about afterwards. Back in 14th April during the Buddha’s birthday, 6 new recruits were sourced from the stalls within the temple.

The Abbess gifted the Inspector with Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s “366 days with wisdom” and the “Sounds of the Human World CD” that described the Venerable Master’s past, thus being perfect examples for his disciples to follow. Inspector Middleton promised that he will read “366 days with wisdom” every day to unleash his hidden potentials.
