NZ 366 Days Book Gifting Mission in South Island
On 16th of January, Fo Guang Shan (FGS) Buddhist Temple New Zealand “366 Adventurous Team” from Auckland, Fo Guang Shan North Island boarded flight and arriving in southern-most city of South Island, Invercargill and continued the journey by driving all the way to north. In the 3-days of driving along to Dunedin, Oamaru and Timaru, total of 1700 books of Venerable Master Hsign Yun’s “366 Days with Wisdom” been gifted to 109 local motels, in the hope Master’s wisdom could bring joy and peace to the fellow travellers.
Even though South Island encountered “Weather Bomb” on 19th, but that did not deter “366 Adventurous Team”, which consists of 5 youths to accomplish the book-gifting mission. The team returned to Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island at 8pm on 19th, warmly received by Minister of Charge; Venerable Jue Xi, BLIA committee and members. They prepared hot food for the team, and praised and appreciated the Team with their hard works.
After the dinner, the adventurous team participated in the FGS South Island’s meeting, carried on duties for New Year’s Reunion Dinner, which fall on 21st Jan, assisted in decorating Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery Christchurch and putting on the Chinese New Year’s layout. Both teams of North and South Island completed several of duties in high efficiency on that night, in hope the reunion dinner on Saturday will be complete with joy and success.
