The 20th ANZBYC Meeting in FGS North Island
Buddha’s Light International Association Young Adult Division (BLIA YAD) North and South Island New Zealand held the second “The 20th Anniversary Australia New Zealand Buddhist Youth Conference (ANZBYC)” preparation meeting on 15th January at Fo Guang Shan North Island. The meeting was chaired by Senior BLIA YAD South Island President, Zhang Dong, and attended by BLIA North Island President, Steven Yu, BLIA South Island Vice President, James Low, BLIA Directors Jason Liu and Cao Qian, former Senior BLIA YAD North Island, Karzin Leong and total of 30 YAD members. Included Fo Guang Shan New Zealand Venerable Abbess Manshin, South Island Temple Minister in charge Venerable Jue Xi and North Island Temple Minister in charge Venerable Rulian as Guidance Venerables.
During the meeting, each sub groups reported the work progress, discussed poster design’s theme for the conference, the plan to make promoting video, confirmed lectures’ contents, and learn to use free cloud service to assist the preparation. Both YAD North and South Island New Zealand brainstormed and set the work timetable in order to accomplish the goal in timely manner.
Venerable Abbess Manshin stated that YAD New Zealand are learning and respond to take more tasks while hosting this year ANZBYC. Through 20th anniversary conference, YAD could share and pass on the experience, thus Humanistic Buddhism will continue to develop in Oceania. Venerable Abbess Manshin encouraged the team to particiapate more works, soften own-heart, accept their insufficient habit and have the courage to change them, heart with full of activities. BLIA YAD New Zealand expressed gratitude to Abbess and Venerable for their attentive guidance, allowing them to have the opportunities in Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple’s stage to become more capable, growth and well perform.
