On 30th July, Labour Party Leader Andrew Little and 6 members of his caucus visited the temple. They were welcome by Venerable Abbess Manshin, Minister in Charge Venerable Juehao, BLIA Vice-President Yuan Yun Yong and BLIA directors.

This is Andrew Little’s first visit to the temple. He was led through the culture corridor and listened to the Abbess’s explanation of the temple’s culture, education, cultivation and activities. He also offered flowers in the Main Shrine, visited the architectures, browsed the “Venerable Master Hsing Yun talks about life – illustrated by the artist ‘Buggy’” exhibition at Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery 1, checked out the tea meditation room, library, Chinese school and the tea house. He was also informed about the temple’s promotion of multiculturalism and cooperation with the police.

Andrew was impressed by the temple’s many contributions toward culture and society and affirmed that he will be arranging for his party member come back for meditation lessons.

Other visiting members of the caucus included Sarah Stuart, Tofik Mamedov, Barry Kirker, Alan and Joy Papprill. They all received gifts of various Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s books and the 2015 Annual Activities Report.
