Blessings and Care from the North brought from Belgium

Members from Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) Belgium, Mr. Francis Van Sevendock and his wife Madam Liu Jingyi came visiting Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island NZ on the 17th of December with the guidance of FGS South Island NZ temple supervisor - Venerable Jue Xi, BLIA South Island NZ Secretary – James Low, committee members – Benny Wong and Tina Cao. Madam Liu who has just completed the “Liberation Rite of Water and Land” dharma function in Taiwan went back to Shanghai, and then came straight away to New Zealand with her husband. They have also brought greetings from the Venerables and devotees from Europe.

The weary travelling did not affect the passion of Francis and Jingyi in visiting FGS South Island. Venerable Jue Xi and Benny introduced the guests on the inspiration, cause and conditions, and also the restoration progress on FGS South Island temple. Francis felt heartbroken at the current situation of the temple but understanding the words of Venerable Master Hsing Yun, to live in the present moment and to give hope to the future, Francis wishes that the restoration progress could finish rapidly and promised to come back after the re-opening.

They then proceeded to the Water Cloud Cottage and enjoyed a simple vegetarian lunch prepared by the host while watching short films of “FGS South Island NZ Activities” and “2014 BLIA South Island Report”. They felt that all members of the small Water Cloud Cottage have given infinite hope and power. Following that, Jingyi shared the hard work of European Venerables in keeping faith. The couple vowed to travel around the world and visit all FGS monasteries while sharing their experiences in the Americas, Europe, Asia and different parts of the world.

In the end, Venerable Jue Xi presented “The Official Script of Diamond Sutra by Sung Ye Ding” and a special glassware to the guests with sincere blessings, hoping that they could find the true treasures in their hearts thru the Diamond Sutra.
