Honourable Benefactors Visit FGS South Island

Accompanied by the Fo Guang Shan (FGS) New Zealand Abbess Venerable Manshin and Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) North Island NZ President Dolly Tsai, honourable benefactors Mr Tsai and his wife Mrs Chen together with their two sisters visited Cloud Water Cottage in FGS South Island on 29th November. South Island Temple suprvisor Venerable Jue Xi, BLIA South Island NZ President See Shen Lee and other BLIA members accorded them a cordial reception and offered a tour round FGS South Island Temple, which is currently under repair. During the tour, the hosts also introduced them the role the temple had played in quake relief, along with promoting humanistic Buddhism through art and culture.

Afterwards the guests were treated to a delicacy at Cloud Water Cottage and watched FGS and BLIA South Island activities report in 2014. Benefactor Mrs Chen was touched by the endeavor BLIA South Island members have made in promoting Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s humanistic Buddhism idea. She also commented on the particular cause of studying Buddhism FGS South Island has brought to locals regardless of small population in Christchurch. Furthermore, the guests expressed their thanks to the effort Venerable Jue Xi has made, which introduced them to the hardships of promoting Buddhsim overseas, and admired the stamina of BLIA member to guard the temple towards building the pure land on earth. At the end of the visit, the guests wished the FGS South Island Temple early completion and said they looked forward to paying another visit on the completion of the temple.
