Srimala College’s Student Visits Botanical Gardens

01 / 10

On the 9th of November, the 29th term Fo Guang Shan (FGS) Srimala College student cohort along with other Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) south island members took a visit to Christchurch's Botanical Gardens at Hagley Park. The students fed ducks in the park, and visited the largest Botanic garden in Christchurch. The variety of colourful plants fascinated the students, and many of them took beautiful photos of the park environment.

This is the last day of visiting the South Island for the Srimala College students. Venerable Abbess Manshin, Venerable Jue Xi and BLIA South Island President See Shen, Lee had kindly accompanied the group, naming and describing several of the herbs, shrubs and trees there, letting them understand a bit more about the wonder and beauty of Mother Nature.

The students were very thankful to the Venerable and BLIA members for their tireless spirit in making this New Zealand trip so fulfilling, with positive thoughts and optimistic energy. From the Venerable and BLIA members, they have developed an understanding of the difficulties in propagation of the dharma overseas, yet were also amazed at the perseverance of the BLIA members in spreading the Buddha's teachings in New Zealand, allowing it to prosper by glowing and burning ever the more brighter.
