BNZ Bank Volunteers for the Temple as a part of Their “Close for Good” Day
On 4th September, volunteers from BNZ bank once again provided their services to the temple as part of their annual “Closed for Good” volunteering day.
This is the 5th year the bank’s Asian division have contributed their time and efforts for the temple. Under the leaders CEO Anthony Healy, Lee Cui, Feng Wei, Eddie Xie and Frank Cui, 52 volunteers formed into 5 groups. They proceeded to attend to weeding, sweeping leaves, cleaning the kitchen and temple grounds.
On the day, BNZ Internal Media, Eastern Courier and WTV all took down footages in order to spread the news of these good deeds for the local community. BNZ Asian division leaders expressed that Fo Guang Shan temple was chosen as their target for contribution because the temple has provided great benefit to the community with their “Three kinds of Good Deeds and Four Types of Giving” initiative and many cultural and educational services. These activities enabled multicultural co-operation and a sense of peace for our society.
Venerable Juehao and Venerable Rulian and Venerable Miaoyu thanked the volunteers on behalf of the temple. Then were then lead on a tour through the recent “A world tour of sculptures from the four great Chinese novels” and given gifts of “2014 BLIA activities report” and the book “Human world”.
