Buckland Beach Kindergarten Visits Fo Guang Shan

On 5th June, under the supervision of Guiomar Fernandez, 24 babies and toddlers along with their mothers visited the temple. They were received by Venerable Miaoyu and ESC Committee Member Edward Chang.

The group were guided through the temple garden, Main Shrine, courtyard and Pagoda, where each location’s design inspirations and functions were also explained to the visitors. They also led the children to ring the wishing bell and offering lights inside the Pagoda. Then parents relaxed among the courtyard by strolling through the cherry blossom walkway and enjoyed the sun with their babies on the garden lawn. The older toddlers also pranced through the courtyard with joy.

The parents explained that they made this visit under the recommendation from Mission Heights College’s teacher Ms Jamie Kent. Ms Kent high praised the temples pure atmosphere and hospitable services from her experiences with the recent “Festival of Cultural Sharing”. The visitors further expressed temple atmosphere’s ability to touch the heart and carefree joy. This allowed them to possess a piece of blue sky within their mind, to better contemplated the meaning of life in quietude
