Lunar New Year’s Vegetarian Food Festival – Buddhism is the Refreshing Natural Spring for Our Mind
On 2nd February, 3rd day to the Chinese Lunar New Year, over 200 devotees gathered within the Main Shrine to conduct the “Respecting a Thousand Buddhas” Dharma function presided over by Venerable Abbess Manshin. It was hoped that all will receive peace, health, wish fulfillment and compassionate empowerment from Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
In the courtyard, smiling volunteers in red uniform welcomed the visitors to savour delicious vegetarian meals at their stalls. This year, many young BLIA volunteers also joined the ranks of serving others by taking time off their weekend. Everyone joyously laboured amongst all the hustle and bustle.
On the day, the Abbess specially talked about having Buddhism as the refreshing natural spring for our mind. Only by increasing our inner wealth, can we hope to have the strength to travel great miles. Only through participating and taking responsibilities, can we deeply penetrate the real meanings of life.
