Fo Guang Club Invite Auckland University Students to the Temple
Fo Guang Club joined Auckland University’s Student Club Open Day from 6th – 10th March to recruit many young students to get to know the temple better.
On 18th March 30 new members of the Fo Guang Club were invited to the temple on an orientation tour, which included site seeing, cultural and social exchanges. These members consisted of many different nationalities including Kiwi, Chinese, American, English, Hong Kong and Malaysia.
The day started with some ice breaking games hosted by YAD member Sean. Then the students were treated to the temple’s delicious vegetarian cuisine. Finally YAD volunteer Michelle Pangestu took the group on a temple tour. This tour allowed the students to discover many facets of the temple’s profound symbolism, bringing many joy and praise from the group.
Finally YAD Chapter 1 Chairperson Annjo shared her 10 years’ experience of volunteering at the temple, where she thanked the temple for providing her the platform to mature and experience life. She also welcomed all the students to join YAD, which will surely make their study life more interesting and enriching.
