Pukekohe Probus Club Visits the Temple

01 / 05

45 retirees from the Pukekohe Probus Club came to visit the temple while being led by Paul Burt. They were received by Venerable Miaoyu and volunteer Annie Ng, whom then took them on a temple tour. They visited the temple architectures, the courtyard, the “Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s One Stroke Calligraphy World Touring Exhibition” at Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery 1, the “Way of Life Photographic Exhibition” and enjoying lunch in the tea house.

During the tour the guests were introduced to the history and symbolism of the Buddha’s statue inside the Main Shrine. They also received explanations of the philosophical ideals of Humanistic Buddhism. The elders were very appreciative of having the conditions to know about the spirit of “Three Good Deeds and Four Kinds of Giving” and becoming familiar with Humanistic Buddhism. Also having heard about the upcoming Cherry Blossom Festival in November, they all happily agreed to become back for that special occasion.
