Multicultural & International Club Visiting FGS CHCH
A memorable interfaith event has been organised by the President of multicultural Society CHCH and International Club, Dr. Surinder Tandon on 8th October, 2016 visiting the FGS Temple, Christchurch. A tour programme has been arranged and the attendees were greeted with a warm welcome by Temple Supervisor Venerable Jue Xi and both Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) Vice President, Elsa Lee and James Low.
The tour has started with a presentation and introduction to Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery, with the masterpiece from Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s One-Stroke Calligraphy. The attendees is then led to Buddha hall to offer blessing as well as wishing bell and also to Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s exhibition, time corridor. Some of the attendees have expressed their feeling towards the tour such as William, who was overwhelmed with the temple’s architectural features with a scenes of Buddhism ‘Chan’. Audrey, who was grateful on the hospitality of the tour. Others were impressed and touched with the uniqueness of Bodhi Leaf in both Buddhism and Hinduism. The attendees expressed their thankfulness to FGS in sharing the cultural believe and allowing them to have a fruitful weekend.
At the end of the event the attendees were gifted “Way of Life” as a souvenir of their delightful visit. Venerable Jue Xi thanks everyone for the precious time and state that the temple is a gift for Christchurch by Venerable Master Hsing Yun. She also welcome all the attendees to the temple as well as joining the future events organised by FGS.
