Walking Group Walking Into the Temple

14 members of the Christchurch New Zealand’s (NZ) Walking Group came visiting Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island NZ temple on October the 4th after knowing that the temple have reopened post the reconstruction from the damages of the earthquake. They were welcomed by Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery assistant, Vicky. Vicky gave the group a tour in visiting “Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s One-Stroke Calligraphy International Tour Exhibition”, sharing the cause and conditions of the One-Stroke Calligraphy, the significance of the meaning from the ink on the art and watching a short film of the One-Stroke Calligraphy.

The group are seniors but they still enjoy servicing the public and each month they will have at least two walking activities. As the first time visiting the temple, they showed great joy in visiting the temple and happy that it is now reopened. They were also amazed by the art showed in the art gallery and gave huge praises especially to the artwork of “Life in Holding Palms”, “Serenity” and “Auspiciousness”, feeling the compassion and wisdom of Venerable Master Hsing Yun.

They have then visited the Buddha Hall and made an light offering to the Buddha, delighted to the visit, the group expressed they will surely recommend the venue to friends and family, or even bringing them to the temple themselves.
