Crime Stoppers President Visits Fo Guang Shan

On 8th July, New Zealand Crime Stoppers President John Perham visited the temple under the accompaniment of Inspector Rakesh Naidoo and Officer Jessica. Then were welcomed by Venerable Juehao and Miaoyu visit the Main Shrine, Pagoda and offer lights to the Buddha. They were also toured through the Way of Life Photographic Exhibition.

John was impressed by the temple’s tranquil atmosphere. He was surprised that New Zealand has such an elegant and peaceful venue that is full of classical Tang dynasty architecture, unique landscaping and originally designed Pagoda. They all touches people’s heart and cleanse and strength the spirit.

John also raised many questions regarding the many symbolism around the temple, to which were answered by the Venerables. Meaning of “3 Good Deeds and 4 Kinds of Giving” was also explained to John, which allowed him to understand why NZ Police has such a close relationship with the temple. Where hand in hand they seek to reduce crime and cultivate wholesome harmony to society with the strength of religious faith.
