New Zealand's Fo Guang Youth Arrived in Melbourne for the 2014 ANZBYC
On the 1st of July 12 members of New Zealand's YAD (Young Adult Division) visited Melbourne for the "2014 ANBYC".(Fo Guang Shan Youth Camp)
On arrival in Melbourne the New Zealand contingent were able to help the Melbourne Youth finalise the last of the preparations for the event
Some of the duties that our youth were involved in were carrying the heavy rug from the storage area to the lodging and to clean and vacuum. They were also involved with administration, Editing and compiling participants files and the preparing of name badges,
They also had to use their kitchen skills and help in the kitchen and with serving during the meals. All of these disciplines showing NZ youth's diligent spirit.
It was said by the youth that doing familiar duties at a different temple made them feel at home and also gave them a great opportunity to co-operate with the local youth and develop a good relationship with them.
This youth camp was invaluable and learning skill were put into practice along with being able to witness the good attitude of the elders. This whole event allowed the youth to experience the "Bodhi Mind within the strength of youth".
