Opening of Sacred Connection Exhibition at FGY Art Gallery Christchurch

01 / 12

On 19th October 2019, Fo Guang Yuan (FGY) Art Gallery Christchurch held a tea party to celebrate the opening of Sacred Connection Exhibition. About 30 people from the local community attended the party.

All 6 participating Artists, namely, Vjekoslv Nemesh, David Arkenston Barnett, Sandra McAlpine, Jonny Bear, Kim Mehlhopt and Tracy Grant-Ussher, attended the opening ceremony where each of them took turn to deliver a short speech. In their speeches, they thanked FGY Art Gallery for providing such a pleasant and conducive environment to exhibit their artistic creations, and they hoped the Exhibition will be well received by the general public.

At the exhibition hall, the audience were also treated to a variety of other activities, such as, Jonny Bear’s playing of the flute, David Arkenston’s rendering of several hit songs, and Nemesh’s demonstrating of his painting skills, all of which served to bring about an air of euphoria. While appreciating the art pieces on display, the audience could not help but be amazed by some of the abstract oil paintings, where they could literally resonate with the inner hearts of the painters.

Sacred Connection is an ‘Achievement’ Exhibition. It is an exhibition of the art pieces produced by the participating artists in the Artists’ Workshop headed by Nemesh. Some of the paintings are bright and colourful, some are with a sense of mystics, while others are heart-warming. The ‘Sacred Connection’ Exhibition will be held from 18th October 2019 to 19th January 2020.
