‘ALL FORD DAY’ Exhibition At CHCH Air force Museum

01 / 12

On 23 Feb 2014, a unique exhibition of Ford cars was held in the Air Force Museum, Christchurch. The Exhibition, known fondly as the “All Ford Day” Exhibition, got its name from the fact that only Ford cars were allowed to participate. On this day, more than 80 Ford cars of different models and ages were driven to the venue by their owners for display. New Zealanders are known for their passion in cross-country motoring. Hence, the event provided a golden opportunity for lovers of Ford cars to travel and share the good times together.

The Exhibition was organized by the Canterbury Mustang Owner Club, which was first founded in 1981 by 30 owners of Ford Mustang. These people came from various parts of South Island, New Zealand. As it stands now, the membership of the Club has already expanded to 160. Car-related activities are carried out on a monthly basis by the Club. These include monthly gathering or round island car trip.

In the 23 Feb 2014 Exhibition, on display were various types of Classic, Salon, Hunch-back and Racing Ford cars. Visitors had a field-day admiring the various exhibits, often reminding them of the romantic moments of the vintage-car era. At the end of the Exhibition, the organiser announced their intention of holding a similar exhibition in the Summer of 2015 to allow interested Public another chance to admire the classical and all-dominating Ford cars.
