Fo Guang Bodhi Class Study Group – Let Your Presence Become Blessings to Others
For the Bodhi Class’s lesson on 14th February, the Malaysian motivational speaker uncle Bang was invited to give a lecture on the topic of “Let your presence become blessings to others”, which used a conversation between a bee and a wasp to represent the main theme.
The story in brief: The wasp complained to the bee expressing that even though they have similar figures and wears a bright yellow outfits that’s much prettier than the bee, yet people always talks joyfully about bees, but claim wasps are pests. The bee responded by saying: ‘People like us because we give them honey, but what have you ever done for them?”
Many people often bemoan that they were not recognised by others, even though they have so much good qualities, talents and abilities, yet no one realise to praise them. But in truth a person’s value doesn’t lie with what they possess, it’s actually determined by how they benefit those around him with these possessions and qualities. Even small gestures and good deeds can bring unexpected joyful surprises and gratitude. This is the spirit of “Giving” advocated by Venerable Master Hsing Yun.
Uncle Bang concluded by quoting again “Let your presence bring blessings to others” and “Let your presence bring fragrance to others”. To share with others, allowing our family, our group and our environment to become beautified and harmonious through your presence.
