Venerable Abbess Manshin talks to Fo Guang Youth.
On the morning of the 27th of January 2013, Venerable Abbess Manshin spoke to Fo Guang Youth of the Young Adult Division about life's tempering and values.
The focus was on sharing experiences of work during the 26th Annual Reunion Dinner. Volunteers were encouraged to enrich their journey through life by working together as a team in preparation for the Annual Reunion dinner. There was much work to be done in the kitchen preparing meals, placing chairs and tables in the courtyard and serving food. As always VIP's were to be treated with the utmost courtesy and respect. South Island Fo Guang Shan Youth Jai Ye Huang and Hui Jun Chen shared their experiences of doing volunteer work for FGS Head Quarters in Taiwan. The work was hard, but after witnessing eighty year old volunteers working joyously and Venerables working meticulously they recognised their inadequacies and strived to be more diligent.
Venerable Abbess Manshin related that we can uplift our character in every moment through co-operation, participation and taking responsibility. Everybody has a chance to practise wisdom with an open heart and become more tolerant. With concentration and focus we can cherish every present moment and do anything we wish in life.
Venerable Abbess Manshin then gave gifts of auspicious necklaces to everybody, wishing all to receive blessings from the Buddha.
