New Zealand Police Officers visits Fo Guang Shan

01 / 05

On the noon of 23rd January, NZ Police Asian Liaison officer Justin Zeng and his colleague Constable Bryan Ward visited Fo Guang Shan North Island, where they were welcomed by Venerable Abbess Manshin, Venerable Rulian and volunteer Candice. After enjoying some delicious vegetarian meals inside the Water Drop Cafe, Officer Zeng shared his insight with his colleague after much recent participation of temple activities.

New Zealand Police Department especially assigned the two officer’s visit in order to invite members of Fo Guang Shan to join an event called “Everyday Heroes” on 23rd February. They also invited the Abbess to host a blessing ceremony for the day’s event. Approximately 10 thousand participants had been anticipated for the day, hence the police especially organised exciting and colourful policing demonstrations for the audience.

On behalf of the temple, the Abbess gifted Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s “Cloud and Water” and “NZ BLIA Activities Report 2012” to the Officers, expressing the sincerity of Fo Guang people and her own participation at the proposed event, thus furthering the mutual support between police and the community.
