Oil Painting Exhibit by Coral Harnett at Fo Guang Yuan Gallery – Fully Prepared for the Grand Opening
On 26th January “Bloom from the inside out” oil painting exhibition by Coral Harnett will be displayed in Hai Hui Hall at Fo Guang Shan. On the afternoon of 24th January, artist Coral Harnett and friends arrived at the temple to personally set up the exhibition. This exhibition mainly centres on paintings of cherry blossoms especially photographed by Coral during her 2012 trip to Fo Guang Shan North Island. The beauty of light and shadow encapsulate within the cherry blossoms are especially vividly poignant under the brush of Coral, which allows everyone relive the joy brought by the blooming of cherry blossoms.
Back in October 2011, Coral held her first painting exhibition at Fo Guang Shan South Island. She expressed that the opportunity to exhibit her works at Fo Guang Shan for the second time is truly precious, thus creating deep affinities with Buddhism. She also articulated that Fo Guang Yuan Gallery is very unique and special, which allowed her to express true feelings without apprehension, and encouraged the continuous revelation of her inner world through this method.
The Abbess welcomed Coral to visit the temple more often, thus discovering more muse and inspirations for her moving works.
