Construction Meeting of 8 Harakeke
A site meeting for the construction of New Accommodation Block at 8 Harakeke street, Christchurch was held on 20th July 2016 attended by Fo Guang Shan (FGS) NZ Venerable Abbess Manshin, FGS South Island Temple Supervisor Venerable Jue Xi, BLIA North Island Vice President Sally Wong, BLIA South Island Committee Benny and Jason Liu, and Project Manager Daniel.
In his briefing, Project Manager Daniel highlighted the following progress during the month:
a) Laying of underground pipes completed,
b)Ground floor concrete slab with power-float finish completed,
c) Erection of precast wall slabs in progress.
Progress of works was on schedule and roof construction will be completed on 16th Sept 2016 as per schedule. Abbess Manshin informed that a blessing ceremony will be performed for the roof shout.
Led by Daniel, a walk-around was conducted on site. Abbess Manshin expressed her satisfaction with the quality of the precast concrete wall slabs and praised the site stuff for their positive attitude in executing the work.
Abbess Manshin expressed her hope that the Building would be constructed in an Eco-friendly way so that when completed, the Building would be able to imbue a feeling of ‘Chan’ to the inhabitants.
